Knowledge Architecture Assessment

Iknow can create a Knowledge Architecture Plan that will encompass the important technical elements of your knowledge management solution. Based on an understanding of your desired KM objectives, we identify the most appropriate technology enablers for your organization. The outputs of this assessment are typically a KM architectural current-state snapshot, a future-state blueprint, and a roadmap that lists and prioritizes the actions needed to reach future state.

The Knowledge Architecture Assessment will:

Define the optimal systems architecture for supporting the KM applications
Recommend whether the solution should be developed in-house, be built using commercial products, and/or be developed as a custom solution
Identify third-party products that could be integrated into the solution to add specific features and capabilities and describe how they will perform in the legacy environment
Define the linkages between the proposed application and other related applications, and develop the optimal phased implementation plans for the deployment of specific functionalities and the integration with other applications
Evaluate how to best leverage the existing hardware infrastructure, and
Address other significant issues such as security, compatibility, scalability, flexibility, disaster recovery/business continuity, and service level agreements.

Taxonomy and Metadata for Content Classification

A taxonomy is a structured classification system that makes it easier for users to store, search, find, and use information. Taxonomies are important because they bring order to today’s information chaos, i.e., categorization reduces complexity.

Iknow consultants are experts at building structured taxonomies. We study and incorporate your employees’ own information filing models, searching behaviors, and preferences to create intuitive and user-friendly taxonomies. While there is no single right or wrong way to structure information, we have developed and refined our methodology, which includes a combination of both automated and manual taxonomy development approaches, to yield the highest levels of user comprehensibility and consistency.
